Phytoplankton are microscopic plants that live in the upper parts of the ocean, where there is a lot of sunlight.
Red algae- This plant gives off calcium nitrate, which is used by plants to make them harder and more resistant to wave and water movements Brown algae- this is the one that we most know of as kelp and grows in forest like patches Mangroves- these are plants that root them selves in shallow sandy areas Sea grass-these are small plants that are feed on by many of the corsl reef life animals Cyanobacteria- these are plants that by the selves are small but grow in large numbers
